Hello UKBF,
I have facebook pages with about 30 000 fans in them combined. I have hired an administrator to look after my pages. I am getting good trafic and I have read a lot about pages optimization but it is always usefull to get some more tips on the subject. In the moment I am posting photos, videos or text in every hour. I think this is the best interval of time between the posts. I am trying to play with the fans with some questions and games but I still think I can do better.
So.....
i would appreciate some tips to make the pages more active...
And also... I am still afraid to tag random facebook fans in the posted pictures. I read this is effective. What is your opinion on that?
Cheers!

If you are posting every hour, your may be burying high quality posts quickly with posts of lesser quality.

I personally would scale it back and make sure that every status, photo, video etc is starting a conversation. Once you have people talking about and liking and sharing your updates, then you can start to increase there frequency.

thank you for the tip. I will give it a go and try to choose only the best posts even if they are not so frequent. In a few days will give the results for one page :) Cheers mate !

What are you doing with these 30,000 fans? Are they potential customers or is it just something you do as a hobby?

What's the ROI?

Yes, they are potential customers. I have some business oriented facebook groups and also I have my corporate fb group with about 7000 people in it. I am promoting there from times to times also generate traffic to some of my blogs.

Is it working? By that I mean how many of the 7000 have converted?

The reason I ask is because I'm never sure all this SM activity actually has any value.

THank you for the posts all so far. What I really want to know is if I should tag random people from my group in my posts. Isnt it too irritating? I read about it and a lot of people think this is really working to improve the talking about the page.

I get clients from facebook. I do some promotional prices for logo designs or for some small wordpress sites and I am posting them. I got a few clients from the fan pages, maybe about 10 clients so far.
I think it helps for the branding. You make your brand popular and even if you dont win clients I think its good for the company. As I said I have about 30 000 facebook fans combined in all groups and about 7 000 fans in twitter. I dont think I`ll stop investing in the social networks and I belive its good for the business.
CHeers!

I wouldn't go tagging people randomly. Maybe once you build a following of users who regularly interact with you then maybe tag them in content that you think is relevant for them. I can think of nothing more annoying than being tagged in something completely irrelevant, I would delete that page straight away.

In my opinion, you are posting too many things, every hour. Your fans might feel spammed and then unlike and refuse further interaction with the page. I'd tell you to try and post less, but meaningful posts and if those pages are for websites, better start email marketing campaigns and integrate social media into them in order for people to still engage with your Facebook pages.

All the best!
