Hi all, I am looking to get a landline number which will divert to my mobile phone. I only need it for light use and am looking for the cheapest option possible. I would appreciate it if anyone could kindly recommend a company or a cheap option? Thanks

Hi, I have a few questions:

1) How many calls/minutes of calls are you expecting each month?
2) Would you like to be able to identify it is a business call before answering it?
3) Would you like to be able to make calls from your mobile while showing the local number as your caller ID?

Regards,

Stuart.

Thanks guys, I will check out Voipfone. I only need to receive a few calls here and there per month to my current mobile for people interested in renting properties. I don't want to use my mobile number so am looking to get a landline number to divert all calls to my mobile.

Sure, there are cheaper calls. Is that really what you want? It'll save you practically nothing and you'll get an inferior service.

(if you have someone who calls you regularly, why not give him/her the mobile number.)

But you say that you only need to receive a few calls - an all inclusive package would work out expensive for you. If you expect a lot of calls, the call minute packages reduce the cost. Anyway, it's up to you.

Probably, but I prefer peace of mind not having to think about extra charges and the length of my call. If am on the phone to a customer for 30 mins for example which could very well happen, that would cost me £3.
I prefer to pay a bit more and not have to worry about that. So far I have found virtuallandline.co.uk that offer a package of 200 free minutes with line rental for £6.95 per month and open-telecom.co.uk that only charge around 3.4p per minute to divert calls.
