Looking for a left to right one page Wordpress website template!

As the title says looking for one of the newer style one page Wordpress templates. Rather than one that goes up and down I am trying to find one the goes left to right. Have looked at Theme Forrest and not found anything suitable. Looking for something that looks lik its for pages even though its only one. Looking for a horizontal slider.

Hope everyone understands what I mean!

Search for Photographers and/or Artists themes. Those of an artistic bent seem keen on these, which drive me potty, and drive others to click away to other sites.
They are usually grey with light grey type of about 8 point which is illegible without a 27" Cinema screen but it wouldn't be hard to change the CSS to alter this arrangement of despair.

Use any theme you like. Create a new page and select the 'no-sidebar' template.

Download and activate on of the many slider plugins. Add your images and use the shortcode on your page. That's it, all done.

I like the thethe image slider but it's just one of many your could choose.

Wordpress just doesn't work like that. Not even sure your could create a theme to do this. It's certainly not going to be something easy to edit.

Even a non-wordpress site will needs bespoke coding. The link I provided sets up the basic site framework but you would then need to find a coder to turn your site into something workable.

Have found loads of templates that scroll up and down – but can’t find a good one that works left to right! May just have to settle for up and down – not really the end of the World I guess. Has to be Wordpress based as this will allow our customer to do own updates once the site is built.

Steve,

Do you have a link to the vertical scrolling theme? Be very interested to see how they do this...

Steve, that's just a image slider. The theme is what you see on the screen with all the navigation and footers and so on.

You can do this with any wordpress theme. All you need to do is install an image slider plugin.

Really? Is it that simple?

All I need to do now then is find someone to tart it up for me!

Sorry edited while you were replying.

The actual code is straight forwards. Everything is on one page with headers to divide. Then it's a matter of adding some jquery (from the link I posted) and it's all done.

It's not a good solution though. Make sure your mate knows his ranking is going to be non-existant and it's going to fall over on all sorts of paltforms and devices.

Not really worried about the site ranking - we will be using this almost as a wifi splash page. We are doing over a thousand wifi hotspots for a pub/beer company who are working in partnership with 2 other companies to fund the service, each of these companies will have a page each to promote there own brand and then their will be another page for a wifi hotspot map. Once a customer has registered on the wifi network they will then be taken to this site - they can either look around this site or go off elsewhere on the net.

Sorry, don't really know whether you mean slideshow or sroll, but if it's just a simple horizontal scroll you want you can just post a scrolling div on any page.

If you want it scalable and fluid just post it into a slightly adapted twentyeleven theme with max-width removed.
    Example here - www . sim65 . co.uk/scrolling-div/

If you don't want to get into moding twenty-eleven themes, installing sliders, coding from scratch then the striking theme has virtually every combination of slider built in. http://kaptinlin.com/themes/demo/?theme=striking it is a very popular theme.

I put togther these two very different sites using striking
    http://www.pyrfordbutchers.co.uk
http://www.oisi.co.uk (excuse the design, thats the way the client wanted it)
with very different sliders with no coding

p.s. they both rank very well for their niches, as do most WP websites

None of those sites meet Steve's needs. He wants the whole thing to scroll. I personally think it looks pants but I'm not the client.

That is very clever but the OP needs a wordpress theme.

There are loads of sideways scrolling srcipts but getting them to work on wordpress means a getting it coded. The OP just wants to download a theme and install.

Nope, that's just an image slider. There are shedloads of these.

Been experimenting and so far I managed to get a slider to show full screen, all user has to do is swipe. But getting it to display and link to content is proving to be a bit of a pain. However it will allow uses to click on each screen and go to the full monty. This might be the answer to Steve's problem.

The sponsors/owners can have their logos on the sideways scrolling content and link to a page with more info...

most sites that do this use the jquery easing plugin You can see a tutorial of how to do it here: http://tympanus.net/codrops/2010/06/02/smooth-vertical-or-horizontal-page-scrolling-with-jquery/ the only theme i can find that has some thing similar to what you require is: http://themeforest.net/item/paralla...x-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/1943552

Not sure about those fish! have brought theme and will go with that for the moment - I need to have a working site up and running for the customer by monday!
