Looking for 5.1 volume controllers

As stated - we are looking for a supplier of analogue 5.1 volume controllers, either the whole box, or insides only. Analogue in and out is a must for professional use, HDMI/Dolby Digital/etc. optional for possible domestic market.

I am drawing a blank on OEM off-the-shelf.

When you have a film on DVD or BR, the audio is in surround, Left, Centre, Right, Side Left and Side Right, with a bass channel (that's the point-one) that is fed through a sub-woofer.

In REALLY cheap sound systems, the amplifiers are all in the bass cabinet and the volume is adjusted with either a remote or by nudge-buttons. Better class systems (e.g. B&W) use dedicated amplifiers and at professional level (e.g. Genelec) the speakers are always active (each driver has its own built-in amplifier).

There are dozens of active 5.1 controllers with prices starting around £500. These have all sorts of fancy additional functions, such as headphone outs, input selector switches, talkback buttons to speak to the studio floor, etc., but there is a gap in the market for a simple volume control without the frills.

Interesting, so it would be a little box that takes an input signal - from HDMI perhaps - allows you to adjust the volume of each channel and then outputs HDMI? Don't must amps already allow you to do this?
