List of Article submission sites

    Hi,

    A number of people keep mentioning that submitting articles to article submission sites are a good way to generate traffic to your site.

    Are there any specific well know article submission sites that can be recommended. Yes I know I could just type 'Article submission sites' into Google / Bing etc, but just wanted some real life recommendations.

    articlebase is good for getting high in search results but the links are nofollowed - so it's got to be good to be of any benefit

    ezine is, I think, the only major article site which allows dofollow links - it does well in search results and can be verty beneficial if your article also attracts links (some do).

    A tip I'd suggest is to do a search for the kind of stuff you are writing about and see which article sites rank well.
    Another tip - make your article really good and useful information - it is worth the effort in the long run.

    In what way has it worked well?

    Have you for example seen a significant increase in converting traffic?

    Go articles, article alley, ezinearticles and isnare will all help in different ways, some with link juice, some with distributing. These are a tiny sample, there are about 40 good sites you can submit to, but you should also submit to a lot more to 'cover your tracks' with regard your footprint. Damn SEO's sneaking around looking at your backlinks ;)

    The thing is not to treat everything the same :-
    1. articles that get sent around the globe but not on your site
    2. articles on your site that get sent around the globe but cite the original
    3. areticles that appear ONLY on your site

    That is the ideal way of using articles (stage 1) Stage 2 is a whole different ball game of course.

    Well if you put enough time and energy into building remarkable content, you'll get all the backlinks you need ;)

    The more competitive industry is, the more statement above gains in value. If your industry is very competitive, these article links will be pretty much worthless as you'll need thousands of quality backlinks to appear on the first page. At that point id rather invest time in creating remarkable content and porheps have a chance of gaining enough backlinks to climb to the top, rather then submitting articles that will never get me where I want.
