You want them to come from SM to your site not the other way round.
I agree it's best to keep your users on the website and not send them away to another website, that's why they did not put their social links in the header or hero, but there's an expectation for it to be in the footer, whenever I want to check someone's socials I go to the website's footer.@Onthebrightside - another thought. If they didn't have links to their social pages would it affect your decision to use their services or buy their products?And many businesses do have socials, and for those businesses, you put the social links in the footer ...
