the answer is in the name multi level "marketing"

these involve you marketing some product

a Pyramid Scheme is just that. there is no product just money going down the Pyramid. and so its illegal

the Multi-Level Marketing give extra value through the product and the money is a secondary

I remember her for her bad attitude on the Apprentice, if she is capable of this scam, imagine what else she would stoop to

I'd like to see her running the tuck shop in the local prison - Perhaps that would be beyond her

I never quite remembered she had a bad attitude. If you're talking about bad attitute you mean Claire Young (the self proclaimed rottweiler)

Didn't watch the Watchdog program featuring Lindi Mngaza, but was it any thing to do with Myinternetbusiness?

what is Myinternetbusiness?

She was just doing a good old Pyramid scheme which involves no product or service what so ever.

Just scamming people to give her £3000 grand and then getting them to recruit 6 friends to put ion £3000 grand and so on and so on.
Good for her and may be people who came in at the top level but every one else would loose there £300 grand investment when they cant find any new people to come in under them.

I have since seen the video of the pyramid scam on youtube. The reason why I ask if it has anything to do with Myinternetbusiness is because Lindi can now be seen promoting this business on youtube.

Also Myinternetbusiness is not a pyramid scheme in the true sense of the word. You do get a physical product for your money. Yes you do get paid a commission from people you bring into the business, but only on 2 levels. Different to MLM where you can get paid at least 7 levels and beyond. However, the commission you get paid for each member who joins is a lot higher than traditional MLM and as a result a lot of people are very wary about the business, calling it a scam and a pyramid.

I'm not saying that Myinternetbusiness is a scam but i don't think there is an actual product with it. i did some research after your post last night to find out a bit more about it.

I do question its legality. I'm not saying don't do it your self but its some think i would stay clear of.

if it had a proper product with it then it would be much better. but you make money just from recruiting people on to the system. So it falls short of laws governing these kind of business effectively it is a pyramid scheme.

if you do it then think hard before you go into it. I'm not sure where the people who run it are from but Ive read info which may lead it to be some guys from the middle east. If it were in the UK or us they would be a great risk of being shut down. But then again i'm not sure of the laws in the middle east.

Times are hard at the moment so people are doing anything to supplement there income. i would really think hard about it before giving these people your $500 - $2500 dollars of hard earned money.

The fact that you have seen Lindi promoting this, a woman who has lost every bit of credibility in my eyes and is destroying her future in terms of working with any one in business who are actually doing it legally. Then i would again think about joining this.

only do this if you have good sales skills and have no morals because if you get good you will 100% have people in you downline who lose there money. This is a guaranteed certainty if you don't lose your money.

The OFT and DTI publish guidelines regarding the promotion of network marketing schemes. It is in fact *illegal* to charge more than £200 to new prospects joining any MLM scheme which is why reputable MLM companies charge this maximum fee typically as a 'business-in-a-box'. There seems to be a worrying trend towards these sort of schemes that dont actually call themselves MLM but reward as an MLM would and ignore this law entirely. The fact the product is of little or no significance is unsurprising as it is just a scheme for moving money.

Avoid like AIDS.

I agree with you Garyk. There is a number of Big Ticket GPT ( Get Paid Today ) schemes out there, that operate in a similar way to MLM. Carbon Copy Pro and My Internet Business to name but a few.

The main differences is the higher sign up cost and ongoing monthly fees, plus the fact that in most cases the compensation plan is no more than two levels deep. MLM, as most of us know can go at least seven levels down.

There is a growing number of frustrated ex network marketers who are taking part in such schemes, tempted by the promise of high earnings from literally day one.

Here lies the problem!! I have been saying for quite some time in other posts that the MLM (and I will now include GPT) industry is a business filled with non business people.

The MLM business model, although not perfect is NOT ilegal. The same can be said about most GPT business models. The problem lies with the people involved, who have little or no experince in sales, maketing and advertising. Most of these people will tell you that its totally automated, you don't need to talk to anyone the sales is done for you, find two people and they find two people and you're a millionaire etc..

Now if you believe all that nonsense, get involved and loose money, then yes, you have been scammed. You bought into the lies sold to you by your sponsor.

MLM and GPT like any other business requires hard work to make it a happen. My advise before you get involved in any business is do your homework. Research the company and also your sponsor/ team that you wish to join. I would also suggest that you read up on MLM law so you know the difference between MLM and Pyramid selling.

One last thing. If anyone tells about an opportunity and hardly mentions the product, or if they only tell you about the money you can make from recruiting, then as Gary K says avoid like aids!!

Don't know when the next series will begin, but to be fair The Apprentice is one of the better reality TV shows. Sir Alan, as I understand it doesn't pick the final few that end up on the show.

What Alan Sugar makes of Lindi Mngaza and her business ventures remains to be seen. I will say that Lindi Mngaza should not be seen as the face of My Internet Business. You should speak to other members to get an overall picture of the business.

People should stop making a scapegoat out of Lindi. Businesses in the UK as a whole should be better regulated as people deal with many unscrupulous businesses day after day. Lets face it, we leave in a 'DOG EAT DOG' world, which was created by Western World Leaders.

It is not just those schemes that poses problems, but people who work in SALES in general tend to be dishonest. After all, they make most of their income by selling, so they will sell you anything to get their commission.

This is why I never trust a sales man/woman. I think all businesses in general should be regulated.
