Leaflets- who to give them to

Hello everyone,

My company has just had 2000 promotional leaflets printed: what and where are the best ways and places to distribute them?

I've already been in contact with several London hotels who've asked for samples, and if they like them, they'll hopefully appear in lobbies and business lounges.

Just a thought, who else serves your market (professional women)?

Off the top of my head, health clubs and gyms might be two places. Plus upmarket beauty businesses (hair, nails, tan).

Also, have you considered getting together with shoe shops (and jewelers) and offering a finder's fee if they promote you?

You'd make less on the front end, but you'd keep all the profit on repeat sales and referrals.

(make sure you actively work your customers for repeat sales and referrals)

I agree with the previous suggestions. Hair salons would be perfect. You would have a captive audience!

This reminds me of a company that offered a shoe-shine at a major trade show earlier this year. Their customers had no option but to sit and listen to their sales pitch for a few minutes. It was such a clever idea.

I have serious doubts on how successful a leaflet drop will be for a high-value product such as yours. How many leaflets do you pick up and read and take action on? Very few I guess. I don't think you'll get value for money and 2,000 leaflets is not really going to make a dent.

Your best route is tie-ins as mentioned in previous posts. This must include face-to-face presentations. Find a women's networking group in your local area and prepare a presentation such as 'Finally Revealed: The Secrets of Getting What You Want By How You Dress!'. Come up with bold presentation titles which will show that people will learn something by attending. I am sure there are many more presentations you can think of.

This will give you the opportunity to show you are an expert on the subject of clothing, which is a major plus in the decision to buy from someone.
