Launching a product in multiple countries at same time

Hi all

I'm currently working on a new product which i hope to launch later in the year

My question, could this launch happen simultaneously in say several countries all at the same time?

What i mean, if i had partners in other countries. Lets say the UK and America and Canada and all the necessaries had been done ie, product research, market research etc etc, does this sort of thing happen? I mean it sounds like it could be and would be very difficult and hard work of course, but if i knew the right people in the right paces, and a plan of action, it could work?

One reason why i ask is that, if this product isn't doing particularly well in one country, it may do better in another. It may actually do very badly in one country, which then might make it therefore extremely difficult to break into other markets/countries. This is what im ultimately worried about. If it was doing badly in the UK for example, it might be hard to break into America or anywhere, which may then mean the product might flop, if people cant see a need and market for it. Where as, it was say doing well in America but not the UK (or vice versa), it may not be such a challenge cracking Canada and other countries too, if you know what i mean?

Hope this makes sense..

Cheers

    <sigh>

    Unless you have unlimited resources - and let's face it you don't - just do your best here, then if you succeed you can afford to dream a little.

    Every small business that has tried to enter the US market from the UK that I have come across, has failed. Some of the big ones fail as well (e.g. Tesco).

    Gaining traction for your brand is hard enough in a small country like the UK (3% of the World's economy) but the US is 20% and is just too much to take in with one bite.

    Get ONE country right and then move to another country, get that one right and then another and so on.

    Thanks for the replies guys. Points noted and of course that all makes sense

    Some products do better in some countries than others would you agree? Depends what it is of course - but that's why im interested in spreading the net if yer like.

    If i have a partner in the US who has the various contacts and resources to take the product forward, and i have the same here in the UK, you don't think it could work?

    Many thanks
