Ok so about a year ago, my battery gave up on me, ie could use the lappie when plugged in, but it ceased to be portable - unless of course I bought a replacement - which being too stingy - no, I didnt need it to be portable, so didn't bother replacing it!

Then today ... its now fully charged - which it has never been in the last 12 months ... and it works when you uplug it from the mains!

Ok, so you all go yes you didnt have it connected right, or that the charger was somehow faulty etc etc.

This is it though - I aint done anything!!!! Its not moved - charger is as its been etc etc.

So a miracle or just what?? Any one got any ideas as to why its suddenly started working again - without me actually doing anything ....

In theory, the power management should be inbuilt in to the hardware of your laptop. However, sometimes power management systems are built into the software (like with Apple iPhones and Blackberry phones) - could this be it?

It's sometimes possible that it gets tripped and stops working until you take the battery out and put it in again. Sometimes by way of putting pressure on the lappy may have got it back. Also there could be sometimes a little connection problem inside the lappy where the battery has to touch the correct spot from where the power is being supplied. Anyway, now it has started working again, dont bother about it..if you get any such problem in future just take out the battery and put it in again. That works in many cases.
