Or just don’t bother. KW density is irrelevant if your content is written for your visitors.

You can try smallseotools KW density checker. There are n number of SEO factors, keeping a check on keyword density is not a bad idea. When we focus too much on on-page SEO, we unintentionally tend to make mistakes by stuffing keywords. Tools help in identifying and fixing such issues.
Not sure I agree. Poor writing, using AI or content creation tools often results in over optimized pages but KW density stopped being a ranking signal years ago. It will raise a flag for unnatural content but that is more likely to result in a penalty or the page just being dropped from the index. There is no KW density value that is correct. Which is why the tools are pointless.

Keyword density is irrelevant and has been for a long time.

One of my higher traffic pages ranks for more keywords than there are words on the page - ie it ranks top 10 for words that are not on the page.

Tells you all you need keyword tools.

Google is a bit smarter than just going smart/smarter/smartest/smarty/smartypants/I'm smart and expecting to rank for the word Smart in a few days.

(ironically this page will rank for something like Smartypants but that's more to do with the domain)

Keyword density however is an irrelevance. A skilled writer will fill the content with a whole range of phrases that may result in decent ranking. The idea that a webpage should focus on a single keyword is a long debunked myth. The search engines don’t work like this anymore. It’s all about relevance, expertise and authority. Achieve this and the keywords no longer matter so much.
