I have a client who after being shafted by an cruddy outsourcing comoany is looking to get a new site built.
They supply fashion jewellery, B2B only no retail.
They already have EPOS
The site is really simple: a set of main categories leading to a list of products (no need for actual product pages). Total number of products at any time is under 3000.
The visitors then build a 'wish list' without leaving the product list until such time as they want to checkout.
If you want to make an offer the client will want to see a portfolio. If you are going to outsource the project or are already outside the UK don't even bother to submit an offer.
That's about it. This is not some cheapo business so the client would rather pay more and get a good site than just take the lowest bidder.
