Is there any way to increase Facebook fans.

- Post crisp, interesting wall posts frequently
- Autograph on related walls
- Participate in interacting with your audience (organizing contests etc)
- Connect your twitter profile with your Facebook page
- Distribute coupons
- Use 'send' button on your profile
- Add Facebook widget on your website
- Get people to join via SMS
- Promote your Facebook fan page as email signatures

The idea is to keep the ball rolling and plan moves to indulge your existing fans...

As suggested, provide something I'd like to be a fan of. At the moment you don't have anything on your Facebook page.

What do you want your fans for? What is the final outcome you want from increasing them?

Not to open the whole social media for business debate again, but, is Facebook where you will find new customers? You look like your targeting the commercial side of the industry and do they spend their working time on Facebook?

One thing that I have taken from my time in this forum is that you need to be where your customers are.

Now that may well be Facebook, I don't know your industry, but it's just something that occurred to me when I read your question.

What I have noticed recently is people giving users an incentive to like the page.

For example a page I saw the other day - http://www.facebook.com/PrintPrintLtd

They enter every new person who "likes" the page into a prize draw for an iPod shuffle.

The downside of this is that some people will like the page purely for the iPod. But you will get a lot of genuine potential customers liking the page, then you can promote your business through there.

I've purchased a membership with fanpageinabox and using all it's tools I've increased my fanbase by over 38% in just a week, promotion had alot to do with it but still, looking professional and having everything in order is just as much key as promotion.     Interesting point. Some pretty big brands, in fact many people, (including us) do this as a matter of course.

    There are dozens of facebook marketing gurus 'selling' get 10,000 likes using the 'giveaway' or 'competition' in exchange for a like (and e-mail address of course, a like isn't worth as much as an e-mail address)

    If you read clause 3 & 4 carefully you will see
    3. ... not automatically ... i.e. someone can like you but has the option not to be automatically in the promotion

    4. You must not condition registration or entry upon the user taking any action using any Facebook features or functionality OTHER THAN liking a Page, checking in to a Place, or connecting to your app.

    ...they are actually giving permission to use a 'like' as a condition of entry.

    So our competition here, for instance
    http://www.facebook.com/roibot?sk=app_260841560603598
    - requires you to 'like' to enter the competition (complies with clause 4)
    - does not automatically create an entry if you 'like' as you have to enter further details to fully enter

    So, along with the 'Facebook not involved' disclaimer (clause 2), and if is definately a Facebook app (clause 1) feel this complies with the F/B T&Cs.

    As some of the other people have said - Facebook works if you've got something to share that people are willing to follow you for.

    On option is to consider getting a spokes-character developed for your brand (a character acting as a spokes person for your business). A brilliant example of a successful spokes character is the Compare the Market's Meerkats. I means, who would follow an insurance price comparison company on Facebook? The Compare the Meerkat website on the other hand receives more than 700,000 visitors a month, while Aleksandr the Meerkat has around 32,000 Twitter followers and 700,000 Facebook fans. That's because Aleksandr has something to offer that people want to follow - and in doing so Compare the Market has doubled their market share and has become the most recognised brand in the insurance price comparison sector. Then there's Churchill’s jetsetting bulldog, NPower using Wallace and Gromit and Lloyds TSB's lovely characters.

    Needless to say campaigns like those I mentioned can be hugely expensive and it involved TV and other marketing and PR support to get to that point. But then you would probably not be trying to get 700 000 Facebook fans but one or two thousand. And you can grow your fan base over a longer period of time.

    Competitions are a great way to get likes, in my experience. I am currently running a competition on my business facebook page and on twitter. Because I am offering a good quality product as the prize, I have had a lot of people enter the competition. My likes shot up randomly about a week in to the competition, and I found out that the reason was people were posting links to my facebook page from other websites/forums. Great way to build links also.

    Well, I did the same thing for my client, they offered £100 worth of stuff, and within a days we were 700 likes from 180. But there is a thing, my client did provide me email database of his customers, which was around 5000, with open rate just around 45%.

    This does created a stir on facebook page, and yes I will agree with above comments, our target market was exactly the same kind of people so it was quite successful.

    Nice to come back to UKBF after a while (I really must get into the habit of adding this to my rounds) and seeing some really good advice and interaction about gaining Facebook likes.

    There will always be the down and dirty ways of getting quantity, but I certainly would rather a shop had one interested customer in than having a queue of tyre kickers.

    In a nutshell, there are over 30 million UK Facebook user profiles, almost half the UK population, the majority of these use Facebook everyday and a large proportion of these use it for over an hour a day... with massive growth accessing FB via mobile (incl tablet)... just compare your m.facebook.com referrals in Google Analytics July 11 to Jan 12. Scary!

    Therefore you have massive reach, now within that reach there will be a niche of users who are your target customer, the trick is finding creative and interesting ways to connect with these users, users who will want to converse with your business and share your content.

    I echo the sentiments above, it's all about quality, a handful of "super" brand supporters are worth far more than a 1,000 "bought" likes any day of the week.

    Don't focus on the like though, it's about getting users to talk about your business, engage with your content, make recommendations and of course referring high intent traffic to your conversion landing pages on your business website.

    Another tip... aah, no actually I'll save this one for after I've run some tests on our client FB pages and analyse the results.

    Not sure that all fits in a nutshell ;)

    So true, that's a street of 30 million doors that you can knock on in 5 minutes. More than that, it's 30 million doors and a proportion of those hang a sign on the door saying 'I WOULD LIKE TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU (or help you champion your business to others)'.

    I'm sure you love mouth to mouth marketing right? Social networks just allow that word of mouth recommendation to travel as fast and far as you'd like - with work of course.

    I've just come across this post, I started a competition yesterday in all good faith, and it's creating a lot of interest, now I think it may be against the facebook guidelines.     There are many ways to make your Facebook page attractive for people.

    1. Post interesting stuff on your page wall regarding to users interest.

    2. Use Facebook link buttons on your website.

    3. Connecting your Twitter and Facebook together.

    4. Analytics tools should be used to survey the progress report like SocialDon.com

    5. Make your page more advertised through posting links on other pages.

    6. Wall post, Videos , Photos should posted on regular basis.

    7. There should be certain restriction on wall so not everyone can post on your page wall.

    Facebook fans can be increased by ensuring that you post informative and interesting content that manages to grab attention. It is all about creating enough curiosity or interest in what your FB page has to offer. This 'creation of interest' will definitely help you organically improve your page LIKES.

    Thanks, It's all about to increase fans of facebook but can we apply these things(approx not exactly 100%) to also increase followers in twitter. If no, then what should i do ?

    actually, I regualary add the following(10-20) in our twitter account but too less increment in followers(0 or 1).
