Hi there,

I am looking for a scanner that i can use to scan my invbentory of products and import it into a excel format.

Has anybody got any recommendations or models to advise me on.

I was looking for a good price and nothing too expensive.

thanks

If you only have a relatively small number of items, The time spent labelling up and printing the bar codes may make a scanner a waste of time, instead consider a tablet or mobile phone with a copy of excel on it, then you just count the stock and enter it into the tablet for transfer to accounts software

The App Store has an inventory scanner. You use your phone to do everything.

The play store probably has some as well.

i was at Zebra thu night with some kids i was mentoring for a business challenge.

They (and therefor I) got shown around their innovation centre. The demo'd a shop display of multiple goods that they did a stock take of in about 10 seconds by waving a scanner around (was between 3 and 4 hundred individual items) BUT they pointed out it was only practical for high end goods as the rfid labels needed for that type of labelling/scanning are still not cheap when you take into account having to attach them - they said current usage is places like higher end clothes shops where each item has decent value
