It appears God has appointed 18.3 people in the world to know about SEO and everyone else has to guess, do it themselves or pay a "good" SEO company a few thousand to do it for you.

I have asked many questions regarding this and all I seem to get is sarcy comments by people who know a lot about SEO and think its "cool" to not tell..... hmmm!

So here goes..

What is an internal link, which helps with SEO?
How do I implement this on my website?
Any more info about internal links will be much appreciated.

I thank in advance the kind people who discuss this with me NOT the people who abuse this very good forum with pointless witty comments.

;-)

An internal ink is one within the domain.
An external link is one that leads to another domain
An inbound link is one that leads to your domain.

Your navigation is an example of internal linking. Internal linking on it's own does little for your ranking but it can lead the SE to the pages you do want rank. So for example you use the primary navigation to lead Google to the important pages or you have some inline links (in the actual content) that describe the target page.

So to answer your question, you are already implementing internal linking. You can improve it by making the anchor text (words on the screen) more descriptive or relevant to the target page.

This is a link in code:

<a href="index.php">Home</a>

Changing the 'index.php' part will change where the visitor is taken to within your website.

Obviously changing the 'home' to a something that represents where you are taken the visitor. For example it could be part of a sentace that fits with your keywords.

Good internal linking helps SE Bots around your website, along with a sitemap...

There is no great secret :)

No sarcy comments - Promise!!

An internal link is simply a link from one page to another on your own website. implementing them is simply a matter of creating a hyperlink between two pages.

The reason that they are beneficial to SEO is that when you create a link, the page rank (the amount of weight Google places on the page), will "flow" from one to the other.

You might find this post on our web marketing blog useful.

Hope this helps

An internal link is a link within a Web site between pages, files, images, or paragraphs.Definitely, it helps in SEO of your website as it makes sure that your website gets properly spidered and all pages are found by the search engines. They build the relevancy of a page to a keyword phrase and increase the PageRank of an internal page.

Internal link are the links that points to your own site. This is one of the best practice of doing seo. Benefit of doing this is to get ranking. As many as internal link you have on you webpage the weightage of that page increases.
How to use a code for internal links:
HTMLcode:
<a href="nameofyoursite" target="_new" title="title">keyword text</a>
(target="_new") if you want your link to open in a new window

No they aren't. If you read all of the previous posts you will see that internal links are those WITHIN the domain.
