Individual email marketing

Hi everyone,

I would like to produce designed emails, but aimed to be tailored and sent to individuals rather than as part of a campaign. I've been recommended to use Campaign Monitor, but so far it seems to be based on campaigns, making the process unnecessarily complicated.

Alternative recommendations include Litmus and Mailchimp, or is there an alternative? I'd like to know if anyone also designs emails for individuals and what they recommend as a process?

As a desktop client, I use Apple Mail if that factors in at all?

I use MailChimp myself. Obviously, given my profession, I'm more interested in the copy than the design, but MailChimp's in-built design features are pretty intuitive and provide some decent-looking mails.

Are you looking to send emails out one by one? Or personalise the same email, sent to many people?

Email marketing is really about sending emails to thousands of people.. You can personalize them to an extent by changing names and phones automatically to target each one, but really individual emails will likely get you nowhere.

Mailchimp is the best platform out there. It's much more user friendly, besides if you send up to 2000 eamil the service is free. However, there's one more email marketing platform worth exploring - Aweber. Their big advantage is their superior data tracking system.

Not necessarily. A really targeted campaign to hot leads can bring in enquiries.

Sales of many services eventually come down to a personal conversation anyway. A broad-scope advert might pique interest, but it's not going to make a sale. If you've got a solid list of interested people, a targeted message will help.

It's the difference between using email as a broadcasting tool and using it to influence decision making when people are ready to make a purchase.

Yeah but if you're emailing 10 people, you might as well use your default email client with the design you've chosen. Not worth to bother with tools and trackers.

Doesn't matter if it's 10 mails or 10,000, I still want to see the open rates.
