Hi all!

This is my first post as member from today!

I am looking to import a number of products from Brazil to the UK ( England ) One being steel 25L pails ( Buckets ), i was wondering what are the taxes needed to be paid, before all is ok to sell within the country.

Also, is there some kind of system online that can give me online quotes regarding shipping?

Any other information you can give, i will be greatful!

Welcome to UKBF.

You can do a search on these forums for a number of freight forwarders, or google them. Some of thier sites have basic calculators too.
Carefully consider your terms i.e FOB, CIF before you choose your carrier. FOB gives the buyer most control in most circumstances.
If you know the commodity code of your imported product you should be able to calculate your duty etc.
The main tax you will have to pay is Customs VAT and Customs Duty. Following on from this there can be any number of additional costs to be aware of, these list from UK Documentation, customs clearence charges, Terminal handling, Delivery fees, handover fees etc. The list can sometimes go on!

You can find out the duty and VAT rates from http://www.dutycalculator.com/ which will give you an idea on the taxes.

Also in regards to shipping we can offer you a price, we also have an online instant quote calculator on our site you can use, although we only have one port in Brazil on there to get a price from but if you provide details i'll see what I can do. Calculator is here - http://www.powerforwarding.com/contents/en-uk/d21_Import_LCL_Freight_Calculator.html

If you can email details to [email protected] i'll try and assist.
