Hi All,

I'm in the process of adding PayPal to our company site, however for the purpose of forecasting, has anyone ever done any research into the potential impact on conversion that having PayPal as a payment option would give?

I understand this is probably dependent on multiple other factors, but I would be interested to hear people's experiences.

Thanks,

James

PayPal is no wildly accepted by many people so shouldn't cause you any issues. It does however depends on your company and the products you sell. If it's the site in your profile then I would expect your customers to have an account or be invoiced. Many buyers may prefer to see a proper CC payment portal or pay by BACS.

My experience is most consumers under 45 have a PayPal account. Some might not have used it in a while but they still have one.

In B2B, most companies are absolutely fine paying via credit card. State-sponsored bodies ditto.

On a personal level, I really like PayPal because
it enables a speedy transaction. No need to fill out address details. When booking airlines for example, I have sometimes chosen one airline over another on the basis that they accept PayPal.
