I've just moved my line rental from BT over to SKY because of this latest increase, (and their advice to avoid the increase by paying a full years line rental up front!)

I work from home and already pay SKY for TV, Broadband & calls, therefore my line rental is now £11.00pm (inc. vat) but I get £5.00pm off my Broadband subscription, effectively bringing my line rental down to £18.00 per quarter instead of the £45.00 per quarter I was paying BT

If anyone is considering moving to BT Business don't - they aren't just bad they are absolutely horrendously terrible!!

I was with them for 4 years and am now leaving them - I am so happy to be leaving them.

Every single time I put in an order for a new line or moving location etc without fail they messed it up!!! and trying to put it right is the most frustrating, irritating experience of your life - you will spend hours on the phone to them, you will be passed from department to department (this happened everytime) each one as clueless, incompetent and useless as the one before.
I'm talking about some very basic orders as well, for example, cancel a line, put in a new line!!!

It is staggering how they are in business with service like this.

The head of customer service, sales, billing etc needs sacking asap!

A five year old could do a better job.

I implore anyone thinking of joining BT - DON'T DO IT! I will be the worst mistake you will ever make.

I can't tell you how much disdain I have for BT, LOAD OF CR*P!

Personally I find BT ok, plenty of room for improvement, but then I am not sure any telco will be perfect. Our approach is to dual source telephone lines. We however only use BT broadband, but we have mobile broadband dongles in the offices for emergency backup.

My advice would be not to let your business be solely reliant on any one telco provider.

I have my broadband via Sky which in turn piggy backs off BT so when it came to moving house I knew the chances of my broadband being screwed up was doubled.

I knew our new house was going to be sitting empty for the week before we moved and I would have the keys. So I contacted Sky and cancelled all of my services including TV from the date we were moving. I then got the Mrs to re-order Sky and broadband in her name starting a week before we moved in. Clever huh? It would cost us a week of doubling up on our Sky bill, but it was worth it to have no break in my broadband.

Sky thought it was a really bad idea - They allowed me to cancel but wouldnt allow the Mrs to reorder services in her name. As far as Sky was concerned it wasnt a new order, it was a continuation of services from the old address. Lots of screaming and shouting got the order put on and cancelled by Sky on several occassions.

Their instructions to BT must have got really screwed up because they proceeded to cut off our broadband but not our phone line (also through) Sky/BT 4 days before the week of overlap.

It then took them a further 2 months to sort out a fault on the newline!

I waited for the big switch on at the exchange which took place on a Tuesday afternoon, but as I was getting my internet services from elsewhere the engineer decided not to follow the paperwork and flick the switch to turn that part off.

The exchange is half a mile from me. It's also the local base.

How long to flick the switch? 10 days:eek::rolleyes::mad:

oh = and if you complain, they ignore you completely... even through a 3rrd party... BT won't see another penny of mine for phones... not ever

I managed to squeeze a fair bit of money out of them on the end. Everytime I phoned to complained I asked for compensation. I got all my calls to them refunded, my broadband charges refunded for 9 months and about £100 in compensation for all the mucking about. I would have rather had a fully working internet connection from the start though.
