I don't want Whois

I am about to register a new website. The host asks me for my name
and address details - are these the details which will show up if people
use Whois lookup? Is there any way of making it so that people cannot
see my details on Whois? (I am currently working from home and don't
want them seeing my personal details, but equally I don't want to miss
any communications from my hosting provider so want them to have accurate contact details for me...)
Any help would be gratefully received, thankyou.

Chaps I registered a website in my own name, but which will be used for company purposes in future. On WhoIs it returns my name, but then the following sentence:
"The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their address omitted from the WHOIS service."
Once trading using this website commences, am I required to contact my registrar and inform them, including address details to be added for searching purposes?
Thanks.

This really isn't a good idea. One assumes to build trust you have your contact details on the site so why not on whois?

If you are hiding who you are with a mobile number and no address you are throwing away a lot of potential clients/customers.
