To the poster above:
Adwords is paid advertising.
Search Engine Optmisation is making a good quality site which the search engines rate.
Whilst I agree that Adwords is a useful tool - It's not an SEO solution.
This is paid advertising you are correct, and who are you paying? Google...
And who do you want to improve your ranking with? Google...
It's common sense, Adwords causes you to create a site that is SEO sensible (otherwise your campaign would be no good) and then ranks you up faster than non-paid methods.
You are effectively paying your way up the rankings if your campaign is well done(can't emphasise this enough!).
My sites are at the top of page 1 on Google through this method and to be honest they are no way near SEO optimised or have any links to them either.
I think that you would be a fool not to include this in any web strategy, you don't have to sell a product to use adwords as long as someone is searching for what your site offers. If nobody does search for what you are offering then you are wasting your time anyway.
So, just to clarify... are you suggesting that buying adwords advertising will somehow increase your organic rankings?
If so, I would suggest taking a long holiday.

I was beaten to saying this but yeah basically Adwords and organic SEO are two different things.
Yes you are dealing with the same company as Google is the main Search Engine and runs Adwords but this is where the connection dies.
Webtistic or Autistic?
I hope you are doing well in your business because with a narrow mind like that you don't stand much of a chance otherwise.
Instead of comical replies, why not step back and think about it or just ignore it and carry on with what you do?
What is googles ethos? a good quality and relevant search experience for its users...
What do adwords force you to be? relevant... and that is without going into clicks per day, click through rates, bounce rates, conversion rates... google take all of this into account when rating your website.
All I ask is that people that have the slightest of open minds and want to do well don't rule this out.
I don't sell SEO, my business isn't in website design and my advice is based on good and bad experiences, the proof is in my No1. google rankings for my various websites and the sales they generate = money in the bank.
Firstly, theres no need to be plain rude.
Adwords is not something I'm being narrow minded about because I have used it for clients before - not as an SEO solution but as a form of online advertising, which is all I said in previous posts.
So your claiming I'm being narrow minded and comical. I'm sorry but if you reread my posts I've purely stated a fact which is that Adwords ISN'T Seach Engine Optmisation which is perfectly correct.
If Adwords has worked for you then great, just don't tell somebody that is something it isn't because thats not fair. Yeah suggest they use it all you like but by telling them that it's a solution to their SEO problems is completely wrong as their page could still be poorly optimised.
Regards,
Ally.
Sorry Ally,
It was meant for Webtistic not Simplistic... really sorry for the confusion. I was refering to his comment that I need a holiday!
His/her comments were not constructive and thus of no value to the posts.
The first post and the subject title was "How to increase ranking in Google" that is what this is all about and I agree totally that SEO is not the same as Adwords and I wasn't telling anyone that it was.
are you suggesting that buying adwords advertising will somehow increase your organic rankings?
Only a really cynical person would suggest that there might be some relationship between adword spend and natural rankings... and I am a really cynical person as far as google goes! (where cynical = distrusting the motives of others, i.e. google). My rankings nosed dived when i stopped adwords.
I know coincidence, but its food for thought.
