Crikey,

This thread looks like it's been nicked from DP.

The dross-ometer has gone into the red again

DP is full of third world people offering SEO services then asking questions on how to rank websites - complete waste of time. We used to contribute for the past 3 years but came off since they had idiotic moderators who issue infractions when you offer in the marketplace a competitive service to theirs or their friends.

The amount of money and time we have wasted on DP is unbelievable by paying people who never delivered.

Few Steps to Increase your Page Rank:

1. Update your website every day by adding more unique content.
2. Provide inside linking to your website.
3. Create sitemap for your website (XML based for Google and text based for yahoo) then submit sitemap to Google and submit sitemap to yahoo
4. And the most important tips. Trade your link with other web owners. Put their link on your website and they will put your link in them.

I agree with those saying 'get backlinks, and good ones'. There's a common misconception that the term 'Page Rank' encompasses other elements of SEO though. Other elements of SEO will help you get back-links but Page Rank (PR) is literally ONLY a reflection of links, and their flow to your site externally and within your site internally.

Article Submission is a decent tip too, though Google is starting to whack article depositories now so they are going to be of diminishing worth in the future (but yeah, they still remain a decent option for now).

Dear,

Seems like you have the skills, but in the process of learning SEO/PR. SEO is a big topic to discuss so I am not going to even talk about it as I am about to get off the train I'm traveling on. For pr start getting do follow backlinks (where rel="nofollow" doesnt exist int the <a> tags) from the pages where PR is already high min PR1 for example, also you gota watch for number of other links on the page where your website link exist.

Simple is but difficult job.

Regards,

- Steve

Been a while since I last looked at this thread but it's getting quite surreal.

And people wonder why SEO machine gets such a bad press.

Graham, are some of the posts real or just spam?
Not so much spam as just complete junk.

PR as shown on the google spyware toolbar is not worth anything.

PageRank on the other hand is a ranking signal and is a result of a lot of calculation all resulting from analysis of the links to a webpage.

A website does not have a PageRank score, each webpage does.

PageRank is named after its inventor Larry Page. It is not an indication of the rank of a page.

Toolbar PR is a bit of pixie dust.
