Hello,

I have an established e-commerce business that I'm looking to sell. A lot of value will be domain name.

Does anyone has any suggestions for companies that specialise in this within the UK? I don't want to use the likes of Flippa.

Thanks in advance.

Why is the value in the domain name? I can register a domain name for £1.99.

The real value is the turnover/profit. If it’s not making any money then it’s not worth much.

But if it’s doing well people will be queuing up to buy it. Me included.

Post the details in the ‘I’m looking for a…’ forum.

Agree with that

Most of the domain names aren't worth the paper they are written on

unless its one word with .com at the end

If your website makes money then it has value to an investor

I found many many options from a google search

sell website uk
website marketplace uk
sell business uk

I'm sure you know that some domains are genuinely worth a fortune.

Paul.
Not really. It’s what is behind the domain name that makes it valuable. The prices you see are usually vanity prices.

I don't think domain names are typically worth the sort of money people think they are.

In terms of selling an e-commerce business, there are more experienced people than me but we had an offer from a venture capital firm for a minority stake of our business, and it was broadly 10x EBITDA, and 1.5x current turnover.

We would be classified as a medium-size business, if you're a small business you're likely not going to get those sort of multiples.

Hey there, I work with a friend of mine who is an e-commerce broker. He has a network of people who are looking to buy e-com stores, so he could sell it quicker then those marketplaces. Let me know if you still want to sell your store.
