Advise me how to drive potential clients from outside.

I can only speak from what I have observed for at least the last decade but 'spamming' email addresses seems an extremely popular method as I get about 400 of these every month.

This must surely be the correct, and winning, answer?

Seriously, for a moment. I have more than once been asked by marketing companies how they might get more awareness of their businesses.

Be your own case study. Attractive traffic to you website. Make sure it converts. The kind of stuff you would tell me if I asked you to review my own digital marketing.

Someone who is good at SEO will never be out of work. If they have any downtime, they just use their skills to rank something and then either sell it or the product/service that it relates to.
SEO skills do not matter. Our agency is working with various web agencies from UK and USA. Every day I read a ton of SEO reports which make no sense https://prnt.sc/sok37h It might make me laugh but I understand that people pay money for this SEO. So it makes me sad.

What kind of car do you drive? Do you know what kind of car your mechanic drives? Do you check or test his car?
Or for example, Hey surgeon show me your appendix. because I need to check your skills.

I am not totally certain I follow all of that, but let me clarify - I am wanting to be constructively helpful here.

Yes, I do want to be able to validate the skills of a person. Obviously, I place some trust in others as I do that - I assume that the hospital have only hired qualified surgeons, for example.

So demonstrating SEO skills is of immense value in marketing an SEO business. And using your own situation as a case study would do this - as would other case studies of clients with whom big successes have been achieved.

However, in this case it's all redundant as the @Ruhul Amin isn't offering SEO. He is taking money for junk services:
"Web 2.0 website is a site where you can create an account and add content. Usually these sites have many backlinks from other sites and as a result a high DA. Therefore Google considers them as high important sources and crawls these websites many times."

His Fiverr page is interesting. There cannot be many Bangladeshi's who speak Hebrew!

If he skills are in providing the services he offers, then "use your skills to get to the top of the SERPS" is not going to work.

On the other hand there are plenty of people who will pay. I once had a conversation (at a social occasion) with a business owner who I knew who was worried that the cheap link building service he was paying for might be useless or even damaging - but he had no interest in finding someone competent and trustworthy because they would be more expensive.

I agree with you. This approach makes a sense but not always.

As a marketer, I think that a successful marketer did ~30% projects which were successful. I talk about D. Ogilvy or other persons who made money and name as marketers/advertisers/sellers.

Marketing/SEO isn't rocket science that is why many young people want to do that. But there are many pitfalls. I wouldn't trust reports or successful examples of projects.

As I want to start selling SEO services again after a long period out of the game due to ill health - I had Crohns disease (I found a way to put it into remision if anyone is suffering from it let me know and I will tell you how I got the doctors to treat me - properly and on the NHS too)!

Anyway I digress I decided on two courses of action. First I was going to use my SEO skills to essentially sell franchises to people in a certain local trade across the UK as a) have already a couple of good examples and b) I have a business partner who knows the trade inside out as he has 30+ years experience in it. So I was going to do all the SEO to rank the franchisee (may even do that before they buy) then part of the contract would involve usimg my SEO services for the first 6 months coupled with marketing support by me and business partner and then support on the practical side with how to actually run the business day to day etc which business partner would do plus a couple of days of training with the rest of the suppprt there anytime by phone or email.

That is going to take time to setup, organise and get franchises through marketing to them.

So in the meantime having a good monthly income from local SEO is the goal and to do that what better way to rank for SEO in your own locality! I reckon it will take a good sox months or so if Im lucky but worth it. I have already started to document my jourmey about ranking positions and which SEO tactics I habe been using.

What price should a charge a typical trade at first? I was thinking £250pm Is that too cheap or too dear?

    Thank you
If you provided seo services for 3 years i think that you are refering about everithing else but seo. Well of course you can spend some resources on ppc tryng to hit the right target, or maybe some social media marketing if you are an active one

What has niggled me recently is the increase in Digital Agencies asking for SEO help to rank their own website, yet when you check their services page there's waffling information telling you to pay them for SEO.

I don't build websites for clients, I am able to do so, but not quickly and I have zero design skills and minimal coding skills so I'm restricted to Wordpress templates. I was persuaded last year to build a 3 page website on Weebly, good grief that was soooo painful.

Never work for friends or family I reminded myself. You put yourself in ridiculous situations because they don't trust anyone else/don't know how to source a developer/oh don't worry Nina an expert like you it won't take you 5 minutes. Sheesh, my stupidity amazes myself sometimes.

Was it Gordon Ramsay who said "Never trust a restaurant with hundreds of dishes on the menu, they will all be rubbish" so why offer a service on your website that you're unable to do yourself?

I get it, people want to appear bigger than they actually are, used a managed office address for their mail to represent a bricks and mortar agency that's credible.

My approach is "Nope, can't do that, don't ask me to try"

Someone who is good at SEO will never be out of work. If they have any downtime, they just use their skills to rank something and then either sell it or the product/service that it relates to.

I agree with this, I fully expect my husband to retire as soon as financially viable, I love what I do and I enjoy performing well for my clients. I won't retire sooner than I need to, I'll be in the Camp of @fisicx o_O

    If they have any downtime

... I had to take a week off over August bank holiday to have time to update my website and write new blogs. March-August this year was mental for me. This week I was supposed to be in Ibiza, which was cancelled so instead I've had another week off. I've grabbed the chance with both hands to work on my website again knowing I probably won't have time again until 2021.

Join platforms like freelancer or Upwork. These are the most reliable platform for the freelancer, giving many clients for various digital marketing services. Moreover, you can also run ads for your services. Just set your right target audience, and you will get a rise in projects

Upwork should be avoided, it's a joke. Most clients have champagne taste and lemonade wallet ideals, they want Google page 1 ranking by the weekend and whilst you're at it the moon on a stick as well.

You suggest paying for advertising on Upwork/Freelancer, the point of SEO is to attract new clients for free using your website as a showcase to demonstrate you are able to SEO your own website to Google page 1.

Too many freelancers get stuck in a low paid job whereby the client is unrealistic.

Does your website rank in Google @Naheed Mir ?

Get your friend to talk about you! Word of mouth is still one of the best networking methods even in a digital world. Have them follow your business's LinkedIn page, and recommend you there too. On that note, have everybody you know follow your LinkedIn page. An attractive profile there may open doors. And try People Per Hour or Freelancer.com to see if you can drum up some small jobs. Leverage all the channels you can until you have a strong name for yourself, and build from there!

Start by being your own SEO client

Rank your own site on Google first to use as an example (most SEO agency websites are cough, splutter, slurp, wretch, hut hum.....)

What better way to get SEO clients than having a website that attracts customers from organic search?

Customer: How do I know you can do SEO?

Agency: How did you find our business?
