Hi,
I am looking to start used car sales Business. I need Motor Trade Insurance for that. I got quotes ranging between £5000 to £7000. Is it normal to have quotes that much? Is there anyone who can give me normal quote prices for motor trade insurance. Which insurance company to chase for better quotes?
Thanks

I'd have thought that was a quite reasonable amount. And not just the only insurance you will need. Public liability, directors, buildings and premises insurance for starters and no doubt more will come to light as you progress.

@Frank the Insurance guy may be able to help more with this.

    Hi @SamCaan,

Not my area of expertise I'm afraid. I would suggest you speak to specialists in this area:

Will you have premises? Many of the motor trade insurers will only provide a quote if you have your own site. If you are selling from home or online, this will impact the availability of insurers and subsequent quotes.

For a new start up business in this area, £5K doesn't sound too bad, but I am a little out of touch in this particular area!

Well a quick google bought this up but of course it all depends on your driving history. 'Cheap' motor insurance though seems to be a thing of the past these days, as mentioned above don't forget your other liabilities. best of luck and let us know how you get on
