Well if the image isn't yours you can't complain if they are using it. All you can do is stop the hotlinking.I don't own the rights for the image.

As suggested > replace the existing image with something disgusting, upload the old image with a new file name into the product page.

To be a link there has to be an anchor tag. Since all they are doing is hotlinking you get no benefit at all.If those site use my imageurl, Will it be taken as a backlink to my site?
