how to approach potential customers- construction & window cleaning

My name is Adrian, I am currently work in construction cleaning. Working in this field I learned about the steps of cleaning and which chemicals are best to use.
I am thinking to start my own small business, but I need some pointers please.
How do I approach potential customers? e-mail, telephone, fax, go directly to the site and speak with the site manager?

Yes, all of the above plus a website to advertise your business and give your potential customer an easy way to contact you.
