Hello

How often do google crawl my site and recognise any of my seo changes?
Or do they crawl my site every time my keywords are entered?

i no longer have the google site verification code in my site should i still have this after i have verified?

i remembered that i 'pinged' my sitemap to google for a faster index, my site has changed dramatically since, do i re 'ping' it to them now?

Cheers

Ryan

if you look here, at the cache date (in red) when you type in your website, you will see the last time google visited your site.

Google will visit when it feels like it. It could be once a month or 10 times a day depending on how often you update your content (got nothing to do with the keywords).

Be vary careful with your sitemap, unless you have configured the 'importance' properly you might it negatively affects your ranking. If all the pages are now in the index, delete the site map as it no longer has any value.

If you don't already I suggest you subscribe to Google Webmaster Tools, that tool is provided by Google and gives you a lot of statistics and information on what Google thinks about your website, how often it crawls and how it ranks your site.

Sites do not have to have google verification codes on them in order for them to be indexed by google.

    Which sitemap was that?

A site I developed recently was crawled quite often for the first couple of months.

After a while when Google realised that the site in question was just a static site it stopped crawling the site as much as it had done.

The crawl rate will depend on certain things such as the authority of the site, links, new content etc.

i update my website content about twice a day at the minute.

-what does configure the 'importance' mean?
-how do i know if all my pages are in the index how do i search this info?
-delete the sitemap from where? my website or google, if delete from google how do i do this as i just copied a link and pasted my url sitemap on the end?

    Thankyou fisicx for your replies

Have a read of my sitemaps are evil post, especially the second paragraph.

Do you ever get the feeling someone has read your mind!

So basically delete my sitemap off my site and also delete it from google
then add a news zone with links in my homepage to any recent changes made on my site (as well as other news related to my services and industry) Is this right/ what you would recommend?

How do i delete my sitemap off google since i followed that link i dont know where to go to delete my sitemap now!?

You can set the importance of the page between 0 and 1. 0 means it's a bumpf page, 1 means it's the most important page on the site. The default is 0.5. You can change the importance setting in the sitemap generator.
-how do i know if all my pages are in the index how do i search this info?
Just search for your domain name. It will show you all the pages in the index. Or use the webmaster tools.
-delete the sitemap from where? my website or google, if delete from google how do i do this as i just copied a link and pasted my url sitemap on the end?
All you need to do is delete the sitemap from the server.

However, judging by your other replies, it seems you are getting rid of the sitemap so all should be well.

The frequency of crawling is scheduled to update dynamic or
significant documentation more often. The scheduling also considers
the direction of the crawl and prevents it from overwhelming servers.
While the frequency of crawling will not necessarily change rankings,
it keeps engines up to date.
