I know this is a difficult question to answer, but what kind of cost would it be for an app or website like bizzby - a service to customer matching website?

The process goes like this:

1. You state your location,
2, Say what service you need, cleaner, plumber, handyman, etc.
3, The app or website then sends a message to the service providers, saying they are needed within the hour.
4, Service provider approves,
5, The app or website then informs the user,
6, The user books or not, etc.

This is a very vague outline, there is no information over how the service availability is established or booked with each provider. You are going to need a better requirement definition in order to get a realistic estimate. At the moment, I'd suggest between 25 & 100 hours

Depends of who did the coding. If it's a homemade thing then it cost nothing.

If developers were paid then it could be 10K or more. some apps have cost 100K+

    if im honest...

Not long at all, cost wise... I couldn't say.

    What I will say is,
Its a simple design. The site and backend processes can be thrown together quickly.

The hardest part will be filling the database with service providers.
You will need at least a couple of plumbers, roofers, window installers in most build up locations across the country. ( Or at least able to service Xmiles from their location )

Once you have the database of suppliers, the matching part is easy.

Not really. To create this sort of thing needs a lot of code expertise. Essentially it's a form that looks up the database and finds matches. That's not too difficult to put together. You them need to contact the tradesman. An email is OK but an SMS is better but you would need a provider for that. Each bit is simple (loads of tutorials on how to build a form for example) but you can't do it without coding skills.

As to the app - that's a while different ball game and can potentiality be a lot more expensive

You are looking at around £1000 for time, plus margin. I would expect it to cost them £15-16k.

bizzby is a very small company - do you have something that they haven't? Otherwise I would wait to see how they progress, so much competition now in looking for tradespeople via app and online.
