User is asking for that only. You can share your valuable tricks here to make others learn about your type of SEO.
There are no tricks. You just follow the advice google offers in their guidance.

Those guidelines are for generic business type I mean all business types.
Should we follow some specific guidelines depending on business types? (E-commerce, technology, travel, etc)
Same guidance applies to everything. No need to do anything different because the subject matter changes.

Produce informative and interesting content that adds value. Make sure your internal navigation is good. Add calls to action and trustmarks. Structure the pages so they make sense with good UX/UI. Focus on speed and security and make sure it's properly responsive. Gain citations.

The average time for websites to rank on Google through optimization (SEO) techniques is about three to six months. That's right – jumping to the front of Google's results usually takes between 90-180 days, depending on the competitiveness of your industry and popularity of your keywords

According to me, A keyword is a base of SEO(Search Engine Optimization). There are some strategies of a keyword for fast ranking in the search engines. A keyword takes time to rank in Search Engine like 70 to 180 days

These are some famous factors of fast Ranking.
1. If your site is new on the Internet so you need to choose a combination of body keywords and long-tail keywords.
2. Select that keyword which has got high search volume and CPC high.
3. There is low competition for that keyword which you select.
4. Include your keyword in H1, Meta Title, Meta Description in the site.
5. Create high-Quality backlink for your site.
At last, These are some ranking factors of a keyword.

So I want to find keyword that lots of people are searching for, and that advertisers are spending a lot of money to be listed for, and that few people are trying to get listed for?

Good luck with that.

Do most dodgy sounding SEO "consultants" quote 6 months, because that's how long they think they can string someone along for?

    That's actually good advice.
You don't do it as keyword though but key phrases

You find the key phrase that lots of people are searching for, you edit the phrase slightly, rank for it and see if it still brings traffic.

Slight variations of a popular search phrases can still bring traffic but not be so competitive.

Just create quality backlinks from high domain authority websites. They will boost the ranking of your website on different kewyords.
    Your advice is flawed.

long tail keyword example not checked the stats (say 4-6 words " kent professional plumbing service company ") volume 10-100 in UK with PPC £3-5 could take up to 12 weeks could be as quick as one week depends on the competition.

free plug in seo quake will give you % of difficulty: " kent professional plumbing service company so that would be great keyphrase to rank for very quickly as has only 15% keyword difficulty, if it was 80% keyword difficulty then would take very long time to rank page one for it if ever ( depends on what other plumbers in kent are doing with their own SEO campaigns)

Generally speaking, websites can see results in 4 to 6 months. SEO results grow over time. You just added your main keywords to the title, URL, and content body and boom – you got to the top 10 in the search results within a few weeks or even days.
eh? Your post makes no sense at all.

How long has it taken members to rank page one Google for your/clients niche keywords in:

YouTube ( 1 day is my record several years back for "plumber seo" 70 search vol per month now,not sure what back then think 40 vol per month)

    Google 3 Pack.

    Google Organic.

    Google ? Take your pick

Fascinating infographic from SEMRUSH SITE was from 2015 though (Dated Nov 9 2015):

    https://www.semrush.com/blog/first-page-google-results-how-do-you-rank-infographic/

    Characteristics for #1 ranked URL's

    78% are .com domains

56% use at least one hyphen in title

25% use at least one vertical bar in title

23% are the index page of the website

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Fast forward to 2020 and https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/226884 have a great infographic:

Google Rater Guidelines Doc say pop-ups are a sign of low quality site.

User Browsing History: Sites that you frequently visit while signed into Google get a SERP's boost.

GEO Targeting: Google gives preference to sites with local server IP and country specific domain name extension ( I will be getting a London server and .co.uk domain for clients in UK )

Domain History: Google says a site with a volatile ownership history (via whois) or several drops may tell Google to reset the sites history, negating the backlinks that had pointed to the domain.

It is mainly all about the competition but generally for a keyword which isn't very highly competitive, it would take about 2-4 weeks to get first page ranking.
If it takes that long you are doing it wrong.

    Try this:

    And then this (pdf):

    Actual ranking factors include:
Page title, page structure, content (words and images), internal linking, trustmarks, citations, references, page speed, UX, core web vitals and so on.

    Thanks..
    I understand all these factors.
My question is, if two websites did all these things.. which one of them will rank first? and why?

The one that best answers the search query and has the right citations.

Note: citations =/= link building. A citation is where someone refers your infornation as a trusted source. For example. If you have a page about the use of Bakelite as an early insulator and a popular vintage wireless repair site links to your page for reference material this is a good citation. A guest blog on some free for all site is the opposite: it one of the worst type of links.

    Thanks.

What if two websites wrote very high-quality content with the same topic and both sites did the same backlinks... then which website will rank first in this situation?

The sites won't be the same. There will be differences. It's those differences that google will use the determine who gets the #1 spot. It could be something as simple as longevity.

What I mean, that if you searched in google for something, sometime you will find the first 3 or 4 results have the same content (not identical, paraphrased content).
So if all with the same content and same backlinks, what are the reason for one website ranking higher in this case?

For the reasons I posted earlier:
Page title, page structure, content (words and images), internal linking, trustmarks, citations, references, page speed, UX, core web vitals and so on.

It may be that one of those sites launched 6 months before another. Or it has better accessibility. Or one link Google likes. Could be anything.

Google has over 200 rules when it comes to SEO. Some are more important than others. So even 2 pages with the same content / titles / h1 headings / page count etc - they would rank differently because Google also now considers things like page speed (the faster the better) and mobile friendly aka responsiveness. Then you need to add in usage metrics to the mix

    So my advice is

Install RankMath plugin in WordPress plugin if possible, and it will track the position and click-through-rate for the keywords. Or just check Google Console. You'll get an idea that way.

Rather wishy washy generic words you have thrown together there. Please do reply with how I can get an idea.

What case studies can you offer?

I mentioned a top plugin to use. Now you may check the RankMath website for guides, screenshots and videos on how to use it. Worth it long-term.

Or if you don't have the time to check such info, then you may hire a consultant to explain it to you step-by-step.

Or was you expecting me to post a very lengthy guide here on how to do it?

I was expecting some kind of explanation instead of you recommending a plugin that's in competition against Yoast.

Can you give us a side by side comparison of why it's better?

Why should I take you at your word? You have no case studies.

I prefer RankMath. If you did your research, you'd most likely come to the same conclusion.

Use it or don't use it. It's up to you.

If you get a commission from Yoast in some way and prefer to use it, then that's up to you, too.
