How does your agency manage engaging with prospects on LinkedIn?

I am looking to employ a freelancer/agency to manage my companies social media presence on LinkedIn (B2B) but am interested to know that now with a strong focus on engaging with potential prospects/commenting on content, how agencies/freelancers do this? My understanding is that only "individuals" on LinkedIn can comment/engage with content, not companies. So do they engage/comment using their own profiles and direct users to the business profile? Or Would I need to ask they create a new profile so that they appear to be in house?

They need to create a profile stating that they are working for your company. Make them add contacts and build a network. Join LinkedIn groups. That's a good place to promote your website and engage other individuals. Join discussions and start threads. Just make sure that everything that you post adds value.

Do people still regard linked in as useful for anything?

All I ever see now are recruiters and people writing marketing guff (most of which is either wrong or BS).

To Start: Obviously I sell social media management as a service so I will positive in my response, however always honest!

The 3 main social media platforms I use to promote myself are Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter and leads directly through the platform wise Linkedin is best, then Facebook then Twitter.

Of course this is not the same for everyone and it is dependant on the way the platform is used.

I have a HR client and a packaging client that also get their best results (sales and engagement) from Linkedin, but other clients do lots better elsewhere (eg: beautician and private tutor on Facebook, student mentoring on Twitter).

However - remember those marketing touches too, and the brand awareness. Work could be coming through Linkedin as a part, but that may not be where they eventually contact you.

I hope my babbling response went some way towards helping?

The linkedin profiles i engage with the most are individuals who regularly post thought provoking questions and comments.

My personal opinion is Linkedin is awful for selling products or service as mentioned above the worst of the worst are the recruiters.

It is a great tool to identify an individual you may wish to speak B2B.

Where i feel it is amazing is over time you build up a relationship with an individual who you can help or can help you in the future (kind of like this forum).
