How does GDPR affect me sending flowers to a client?

    We have a client who is celebrating a milestone birthday. Wanted to send flowers, but that means I have to give their name & address to interflora or whoever.
    what are the implications under GDPR?

    It's an interesting question - common sense says "none whatsoever" since to be in trouble over this, your client would have to report you to the ICO. Would this be an issue if you used DPD to send contracts over? I suspect this complaint would not be given any credence.

    Interflora shouldn't be able to contact your client other than to fulfil their contract with you (ie to get into the building or arrange a re-delivery) and since you can't consent to your client being added to a mailing list, Interflora can't do that. If they did, it would be them in trouble with the ICO, not you.

    Unless you feel that your client might be angry that you drew attention to their ageing and wanted revenge (and even then, I doubt it would work) I'd send the flowers :)

    What makes you think the client is a lady (or anyone of the female persuasion)?
