How do you train your AI for marketing purposes?

Hi there! I have noticed that with AI, it really depends on the prompts you give and the outcome you receive. I have been using the paid version of Chatgpt, but it doesn't have the results I am looking for. Could you give me some examples of what do I need to prompt in order to get various options for marketing related questions? Like copywriting, coming up with content ideas etc.

Only you know how to train your AI tools as the outputs you require depends on your needs.

As an example, what type of content do you need?

As above, difficult to give a generic answer but prompt maybe the wrong "description" ie if you just ask for instance "what is the difference between a commercial and private lease" you will just get the bare facts, if you asked it to write a paper in the form of a report for a presentation describing the difference between commercial and private landlord lease's you will get a total different result.

So for me in short everything to do with AI depends very much on how you phrase those questions (as you are finding out) and I will quite often "ask" the same thing in three different ways, hope that makes sense

If you provide ChatGPT with information about your business, info about the content you want to create, an outline of your required output, and a couple of writing examples/style/tone to follow, you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality of the content it creates.
I disagree. Most of the content it churns out is useless. You have to do a lot of rewriting to make it of any use.

The quality of AI output depends on several things, including:

    1. The capability of the model (GPT-4o is currently the top performer imho)
    2. The quality of the instruction.
    3. The quality of the reference materials (context) provided to the model.
    4. The quality of the example outputs provided to the model for guidance.

To state "Most of the content it churns out is useless." indicates you may need to check/refine the points 1 through 4.

If you have any specific use cases where you would like to improve output quality then feel free to share and I will do my best to help you get the exact outputs you are hoping for.

I ran a number of tests asking for some marketing copy for a plugin. No matter how much I refined and changed the prompt Chat GPT still made a right mess of things.

I've sent you a PM to see if you can get something I can use

Hi @ericson! In my experience, when ChatGPT answers instantly, it often hasn't fully processed your request. Better responses tend to come when it takes a bit more time. The key to using ChatGPT effectively is writing good prompts. Writing short and unclear prompts will give you worse content.

For example, start with "Act as a copywriter" to set the role. List your specific requirements. Ask it to avoid salesy language and use plain English.

ChatGPT can help create better content, but you'll still need to edit and fact-check its work. Without clear prompts, you might be better off writing on your own. I find that ChatGPT is great for ideas (if the prompt is detailed and clear).

I recommend learning more about ChatGPT's capabilities and limitations before using it properly.
