    Hey all.
Recently, Im getting more and more clients with ecommerce (woocommerce) online stores. What's your practice on setting up the payment systems for a client? Do you request their details, address, bank details etc and then sign up on their behalf or you ask them to sign up and then pass over the api keys? Just trying to figure out the best practice for myself and the client.
    Thanks

Let them to do it. You don’t want to be responsible if a mistake is made.

@Shopclicks may have a different approach but I tend to be as hands off as possible. I’ll set up and configure a site and offer training but I don’t do anything involving personal data.

I talk people through the processes over the phone or in-person. Bank details are sometimes sent through but setting up PayPal, Stripe, etc. definitely not. I know those processes well enough and can talk people through the account setup and linking to Woocommerce.

Glad to hear, Iv made a decision to not sign up on behalf of the client. Sounds a bit dogy anyway, doesn't it? But yeah, Iv had meetings in person or over a call, like zoom or similar.
Anyways. The question seems to be answered. Thanks a lot

Not all my clients are the same, for most I provide video instructions, but some of them require I set up the payment systems on their behalf, I give them a form to fill out, I setup the accounts and teach them how to change passwords/secret keys.

As others have said, most clients will do that bit and we'll tell them where in OpenCart to add the keys.
