Hi firstly i would like to thank all those who take time to respond on my threads i really appreciate as it as helped me so much.

I am at a stage were i want to expand my cleaning services from residential cleaning to providing cleaning for.

Initially i was planning to approach estate agencies and places which do events in person. I would go in with my fliers/business cards together with what i provided and telling them a bit about the company .Would that be a good idea? Any suggestions for adverting for the these listed below please respond . Thank you

1. landlords ( end of tenancy cleaning)
2. Office cleaning ( i currently have one office that i provide services for)
3. After party/events cleaning ( For people who have private parties etc)

Yes, I'd suggest it is a very good idea to walk into estate agents etc.

The hardest part will be getting eyeball to eyeball with the right person though. Remember; never take a 'no' from anyone without the power to say 'yes'. Ask who deals with the cleaning contracts, get a name. When you are told they are out, tell them you'll come back.

If you are in the south of England and interested in builders cleans then you may be interested to know the following.

The southern construction framework is the system put in place by government whereby 10 main contractors (the really big boys) are given the contracts for all government projects in the south, including London, for the next 4ish years. They are desperately short of certain trades, and cleaners are among them.

I have the contact emails of the right people (those that handle the supply chain) at each of the large ten contractors (eg;Kier) which I'd be willing to forward you.

If you are prepared to jump through a few hoops and be a bit patient, and persistent, then there's a ton of work in the pipeline coming up with them. Let me know.

Caveat; you will have to buy me a latte if we ever met in person, as it will be a pita to get all the email addresses copied to you :)

If you want direct contact with Landlords, register with LinkedIn and join the Landlords Network. Once a member of that group just go down the members list and target your marketing...tip connect with everyone in the group first and then contribute to discussions where you can before blasting promotions.

If you get stuck, I can introduce you.

I think it depends on where you live/work. It can be easier if you live/work in an area where there are lots of landlords like perhaps seaside towns etc. I'd also agree with going into letting agencies especially holiday lettings companies as they have a high changeover rate. I did this when I used to clean and once you have a couple of clients you'll get loads more through word of mouth.

Estate agents in my mind are greedy and all they see are £££ and not people when they wlk through the front door. Make sure you include what they will get if they refer landlords over to you or if they use you.

Im sure not all agents are like that, im just yet to meet one.

be prepared for some absolutely FILTHY properties in comparison to residential/office cleans.

We have done End of Tenancy cleans and also builders cleans.

At least the builders cleans are only dust/silicon and some soil dirt, the end of tenancy you could open a cupboard and the smell would choke a horse.

With all things, the best road in is through someone. If you can't get through to someone, befriend the person behind the desk or phone and keep them sweet but don't pester them, they are working as well.

We got into a major house builder via a surveyor I know, in 2 years we grew from 1 site to 11 sites including cleaning all the show homes for them in the West division of our area.

Good luck
