This is why.....
It is not easy to recognise, think of all the great company logos, they are mostly really really simple. All or nearly all of them the logo is designed around the company name, so the logo is a logo, which is letters. This makes it more recognisable from different position and angles.
If you say it is IT, what kind of IT is it, I have worked at the hi end of IT for 20 years, there is so many specialised area's now, that not possible for a smallish company to cover them all, so I would suggest the logo would be more useful if it gave more indication of the area you company was involved it.
The logo is to dark and to dull, if it going to be black'ish and white'ish, it needs to be more text based like IBM, (I know it is blue).
Not always but a logo does in a small way have to fit into the design of any websites you may have.
The Logo I think should be simple, but easy to reconise .... like bbc, facebook, sky, bebo, etc etc.
Think of all the IT companys and see their logos, the only one I can think of that use a drawing, is juniper networks, but they have just changed it to text only.
The logo does does not have to be that exciting, but it does have to be easy to reconise and remember. The more complex the logo, the harder these things are.
The Excitiment of the company is what is written below the logo, not the logo its self
