Home Insurance With Business Cover?

I've hit a bit of a brick wall with this. I'm after an insurance company who will allow normal home insurance but also cover a large 5 figure sum of stock stored at home. Basically Home insurance with business use. I don't need any liability insurance etc as it's purely online and I don't allow collections.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Current insurers said no (Legal and General), Axa who I was recommended to speak to, have also said no even though they provide home business cover which I though was odd.

You will need a broker I think, but I think you are trying to do this the wrong way round.

Instead of looking for home insurance which allows you to cover stock, have a look for business insurance which allows you to work from home. I used to do a fair few of these policies at my previous employers. Not something I do much of now but it can be done.

There was a similar thread a while back on here. In the end I think the resolution was having an exclusion on their home insurance policy meaning the stock wasn't covered, and then insuring just the stock under a business insurance policy.

I know a few people have found this tricky in the past!
