Ok, here's one for you all that I need some advice or divine intervention with.

If I am asked to falsify timesheet records to show that an individual or number of individuals are paid for a different number of hours that they have actually worked

a) is this a criminal offence
b) what rights do I have if I am forced to resign because of it knowing that there will be no papertrail stating the truth.
c) I work in finance, what should I do

Tell them you will be glad to do it as long as the request is made in writing and signed.

I assume that it's la grande fromage who is doing the asking...in which case I go with the first reply. Agree to do it but make sure that you get a written instruction.

Yes it is le grande fromage, and I had better dust off the old kevlar undies just in case. You have reflected what it is that I had thought. Fingers crossed things don't go pear shaped on this one.

Agree with the above but would also seek legal advice independently - belts and braces are in order here I think

Yep, thought about that too. Seems like a call to a solicitor is in order.

If your boss is dishonest enough to suggest this then what's to stop him weazleing out of it and leaving you culpable - go down the solicitor route

If you work in finance and you are an accountant then it looks to me a if you might have a SOCA report to file.

Go and look at soca . gov . uk with a www before it
