Can anyone tell me how I can rectify a small problem that has suddenly appeared on my WP website. On the contact page, under 'send message' randomly 'find us' has appeared! Don't know why or how and I cannot delete it via the CMS.

Would appreciate any help on

a) how to get rid of it
b) how it could have suddenly arrived!

All plug ins are up to date??

Thanks in advance, Anne

Hi Anne,

It's probably when you updated one of the plugins (maybe its a new "feature" on one).

If you can't figure it out, PM me and I'll be happy to log in and take a look for you.

    Below is the code, It looks like a sidebar module heading, some of it has been commented out but you might need to find the template for this module to get rid of the header or disable the module or placeholder.

    HTML:
    	   <!-- Sidebar -->
    			    <div id="sidebar">

    							<h3>Find us</h3>
    							<div class="sidebar_item">
    								<!--<ul class="contact_list">
    									<li class="contact_phone">111-111-1111</li>
    									<li class="contact_fax">111-111-1111</li>
    									<li class="contact_email">[email protected]</li>
    									<li class="contact_address">111 Some Street, NYC</li>
    								</ul>-->

    								<!--<img src="http://jillianhartleyphotography.co.uk/wp-content/themes/kingsize/images/map.jpg" alt="map" class="map" width="180px"/> -->
    							</div>

    			    </div>
    			    <!-- Sidebar ends here-->

    All sorted.

    It was a sidebar in the contact page template. It has been expunged and sent to the dustbin of code in disgrace.

    Always problem with theses themes that do it all for you - you spend half you time stripping out all the code you don't need. Like sidebars IN THE CONTENT!

    Can you get to the code behind it? I hate it when that happens, it can be so frustrating just to try to take out a piece of code. I would take a copy of the code and then do "view source" in your browser, then do a find to see where the code is sitting, that might help you figure out which part of the page you need to focus on. I don't know if it helps but I find that useful. You can even download an addon for firefox called Firebug which will enable you to click on the area of a page that you want to analyse and see the code for that part underneath.

    Hope that helps
