Headless CMS & Ecommerce

Is this something we should be taking seriously and the next development or is it just another alternate approach?

I looked at doing this on a test site and gave up. There is an awful lot of work to do for very little gain. And it meant learning a whole new set of code.

It is something I have done.

My feeling is that it works well for something that is a web app rather than a website. Its also good if you want a single backend for mobile and web, or just want a backend and admin for mobile apps.

In short, it works well when you are going to have lots of front end code anyway.

I think if you have the time to learn you should do it. There is no harm in having it in your armoury.

Will it be something that everyone is going to jump on? I don't think so.

I'm looking into Craft CMS and using that as headless for an upcoming project.
