The latest CH update invited me to verify early, before it becomes mandatory in the Autumn.

I tried to verify on my PC but they were unable to use security questions to verify my identity, supposedly using Experian.

Then I downloaded the app to my 'phone, but it refuses to scan the NFC chip in my passport (no supported app to scan this type of chip, or something like that.)

So now I have to get a letter to take to a PO that does identity verification, i.e. none of the nearby local ones.

Hmmph.

Yes I did. Was a bit of a faff using the gov authenticator app (didn’t like my ugly mug) but I got it done an about 10minutes.

The post office verification is no big deal and very simple.
I would say that if you are unable to negotiate your way to a post office then you are in no fit state to run a company

I did, and I did use the mobile app which worked for me. My phone is brand new, upgraded a couple weeks ago, so don't know if it worked well because of a new phone or I was just lucky - as I have heard of a few people having issues with the app.

    what did you go for
I'm so ingrained in the Apple ecosystem, so an iPhone 16 Pro.
I work on a MacBook, I do video editing as a hobby on my iMac, I use an Apple Watch .. so it would be a complete lifestyle change to go to Android :p

Yep I changed years ago, I moved from my bespoke trading set up with six screens to Apple now using three main screens (much prefer the quality of theirs) couple of pro laptops and iPads and of course the iPhone, only on the 15+ at the moment. The only things I missed were Outlook and Excel the latter I could not do without so run that through 365 subscription which works very well.

One of the best highlights was I could actually see the world go by outside the study window 😁

It doesn't help - but yes I did, and it took a few minutes, very quick and easy.

Out of all my clients I've only had two so far who had issues scanning the chip in the passport.

My old iPhone 13 Pro worked :)
