Never heard of them myself but they arent really offering anything new - plenty of webhosts have the option of using their "site builder" to make your own pages.

Looking at the pricing it does seem fairly high to me given the little space that you get.

I wasnt over keen on any of their "demo" pages and these are presumably the best people have done with their tools! Even the bottom ones which are custom designs didnt look very good to me.

Looking at the source - it is certainly very basic and with the trend of using CSS for layout rather than tables this certainly doesnt follow the trend.

Given I have created more than a few sites in my time (though wouldnt consider myself a designer/ developer) I personally would be more tempted to get a free trial of Dreamweaver (or a similar WYSIWYG editor) and see how you get on with it. If you are going to design your own pages you may as well use something that you will be able to grow into rather than something that you will hit its limits within a few days in my opinion. If you get on with dreamweaver you can then get a webhost at an appropriate price point - getting an equivelent level of service for less money than they are charging or pay more for better.

The only thing which would "appeal" is the ability to do a store yourself. These arent really that difficult and I know Dreamweaver used to have an plug in shopping cart system but as I have only been doing information sites over the last few years I dont know if they still do or not.

Thanks! :D You can get around the cost if you put a lot on one page, as you only pay per page. Worth a thought anyhoo
By the way, Happy Saint Patricks day everyone! (its kinda weird living here on saint Paddys day, as its such a big deal in Ireland)

I was just looking around for a e-shop package for my other business and came across this www.doyourownsite.co.uk

It looks pretty good. Any comments?

Have you tried Cubecart.com there is a mod available for it so you can upload a csv file with as many prods as you have in you database or spreadsheet. I am a cubecart skin developer and have helped people with these problems many times.

One site that I'm currently trying out is

http://www.seoscotland.co.uk/onlinestore.html

It was bought by eBay just last year and has tons of potential.

The packages start from just £3.97 per month.

The next cheapest package includes:

  • brand new domain name
  • webhosting
  • free ebay integration
  • free integration with Paypal
  • and loads more features that would allow you to sell products online

The first month at the moment is completely free for you to try out.
