Has anybody ever had this

I will start of by saying has anybody ever had it when they look back at there life and think I want to change it. ? This is how it is for me I work on a construction site and I think to myself how can I change my life. Has anybody else had that and what has been your outcome.?

A lot of people have it, one of my best friends is going through a similar thing. Working a job that means he cannot afford to move out when he really should be looking to.

I had a quick word with him, hard as it was to get through to him, and we came up withh some ideas and he is now even going to an open mike night to try out his comedy, which may not be a career, but it makes life that much more enjoyable.

Are there any ideas you could use? Could you take up a hobby, start a new business? A lot of people I know have used surveys to make money online, catch the bug and then look for lots of bits and pieces they can do, the extra money allows them to do more of their hobbies and its usually times they werent doing anything anyway!

You cannot change the past... regrets won't do you any good.

I thought that you wanted to stop being a bricklayer and wanted to start your own business and be a house builder.. start a company etc.

Well.. there you go.. just start a new life:)

Just make sure you have enough money/"get up and go" for doing what you want.

There are likely to be investors around who would like to tie themselves to a reliable individual when doing up houses, this could be a way forward as they could use the specialised help and you could even get a few on board and keep the work rolling.

Yeah but I think getting the finance is going to be near impossible.

Unless you have worked out a plan and know exactly what finances you need, you'll never know.

Lots of people go through the same thought process you are now. Most seem to never actually do anything about it and stay in the same situation until they die 50 years later. Few decide to do something about it. It's not that they got lucky, it's that they DID something about it rather than just thought about doing something about it.

OP, you'd be surprised at the number of property "developers" who are more property "investors who subcontract everything" and don't do hands on work. Nothing wrong with that at all, obviously. But if you ask the right questions in the right places you may well find one who's willing to work something out with you. Ask questions! Ask anyone and everyone questions, you never know what the replies will be, or who people might know...

Yep, it's a very normal thing to do. Everyone thinks how they can improve their life but few actually do something about it. Doing nothing is easy - especially when there's a salary coming in, month after month.

I think I'm probably right in saying most of the people on here took a chance when they started a business. Some didn't get it right first time, but unless you try, you will never know.

You just need to look at your life, decide what you want, and work out a plan to get you there - include the potential pitfalls (where possible!) and some milestones so you can track your progress.

If you don't try, you'll never know, and spend the rest of your life saying "what if?" :)
