We want to remove "stay safe".
Any idea's of what could go there, something that the consumer would first read and think "i'm keeping this"
Thanks

Nothing.

It's a small space and there's only so much you can do with it.

If you think people will take orders from an unsuported/unproven statement by a website they've never heard of and have no reason to trust, then I think you're understimating their intelligence.

If you want to make a case for why they should listen to you, you're going to need a lot more space/copy.

Just my 2p,

Steve

It states on the website:
You must provide us with the following:
Proof of Business Acc, Proof of Trading Time, Proof of Address, Proof of Public Liability Insurance, Proof of any trade association membership and three references.

Its a growing concern, everyone starts from scratch, so if i stick to what i am doing, the consumer sees this, then over time it will not be as you have stated. (possibly)

I thought it was a flyer.

(because of it's look and "the consumer would first read and think "i'm keeping this")

What is it?

Don't like the verified bit either

Neither do I. Verified by whom exactly? Looks like a con before anyone gets any further.

What do most of us do when we want to find a tradesman? We ask someone we know for a recommendation or suggestion, we only resort to Google when other avenues have been exhausted.

So my suggestion would be to put something like "Need to find a tradesman? Ask us!" No dubious 'verified' or 'approved', just "we know the answer when no-one else does".

"Use it or die"
That's quite hard hitting...
Haha, made me laugh, your right if its regarding electricians or heating engineers i suppose!

There are a few posts here that are interesting.

We do verify details, so i suppose we could say pre-approved/approved.

I like the "tradesmen you can trust" too maybe with "local" at the beginning would be good.

Alot to chew on here, thanks to all posters.

'Directory of trusted community traders' - says what it does on the tin! I too was confused as to what it was until you explained - so perhaps spelling it out isn't such a bad idea.

BTW - did 'Steve' get out the wrong side of bed today or something. He's ripping into a few posts today I notice! Deep breathe and all that.

The overall image is very busy and it might look better if you simplified it a little. How about: "Keeping it Local", "Keep it Local", "On your doorstep", "A step away...", "Handy Local Services"... new to this Forum. Looks quite good. Just some ideas anyway.... Good Luck!

Eh? I haven't posted on this thread for 3 days.

I think KM-Tiger said it best:

Maybe it's because I'm a marketer/business owner, but when I see things like "Verified Independent Professional", I tend to suspect the only thing that the directory has verified is that the business' cheque cleared the bank.

Maybe Joe Public is more likely to be taken in.

At the very least, it's better than the bossy "Use Verified Local Trades", which was a real turn-off.

We are changing it, AGAIN!!
All responses are valid help, so we shall keep the Verfiied/VIP trader etc for the website, as it is explained on there.

We will, as suggested by the newbie Mobili no less, go with "keeping it local" with the wording below saying: Helping You Find Honest And Reliable Local Tradespeople
