Hi Folks,

Was hopong someone could point me in the right direction, my query is this, I run a fitness studio that's quite busy running 25 classes a weeks. I get people booking in by messaging on facebook, text and when they are in the studio. Whats happening is people are booking, and people walking in leaving people who are booked leaving and disappointed. What i need help with is a fool proof way of controlling this, technology is important. What would be the best way around this? Thanks

What system is your website using?

When people book by current methods, how do you record them? A simple diary could manage this!

My gym uses a company called technogym for all its equipment. I have an app on my phone where I can book classes, and I get a little RFID key that you need to swipe when you enter the gym, and before you enter a class.

It works very well but I´m sure it was a big investment

First of all, I would setup a system that will display - in a very friendly way - the remaining free spots open on current/next class.

Secondly, I would centralize all bookings in a web page and send a confirmation link to all those that booked, independent of the way they did it.

3rd, link the two systems and add any "Salt&Pepper" needed. :)

We are specialising in a development of web application for i.e. gym (booking systems, CRM's, etc.).

Always best way is to invest a little bit more than use something off the shelf (especially if you have to pay £££ for using it). Way safer for a future development as you can cheaply and quickly add new features for your members (e.g. mobile apps, integrated QR/chip/NFC readers at your doors or any other modern system as we're using ASP.NET MVC so integration of IO devices is very simply)

Just to add something more...

You've mentioned many interesting things, but one really got my attention: Some people book by messaging on Facebook.

Would you see benefit on automating this?

E.g. Your customer messages you on Facebook asking about Yoga classes next week. An automated system then scans your calendar and replies with something along the lines of "Sure, we have a Yoga class on Monday at 10am and there's still room for more people, would you like to book?" - This can be done at any time, as well as cancelling.
The system could even add "By the way, we've got these yoga pants on sale at £9.99 - Would you like to buy a pair? You can collect them at the gym and you'll be charged on your monthly bill".

We provide website/back office systems that do exactly this, aimed at the gym/sports club sector.

That enables customers to book - and pay for - sessions in the gym, although with much, much more.

Obviously, as this is a system developed by the team at my own company, I am biased in its favour, but I think it is rather good.

Any chance that system could be integrated with something like this?
