Hi, Apologies I have tried searching the forum to see if this has been covered before I am just struggling to find consistently similar information regarding the new GSPR regulations and how this affects our particular set up. I understand this from the 'seller' to 'end consumer' perspective in a retail type transaction and have updated our selling channels for this side of the business to restrict and NI and EU sales as it fortunately doesn't have a huge impact on our limited sales in those market places.

However we are actually a manufacturer/wholesaler/importer ourselves and supply our products to stockists.
For some clarity we are based in the UK (warehouse and head office). We manufacture in China and India, and import these goods to the UK. We have a few stockists we supply in Northern Ireland, Ireland and Europe but we are really unsure how we continue this business with these customers since the GSPR regulations came in.

We have no EU based representatives currently. Am I right in thinking our only option to continue with these customers is if they assume the position of importer? So they would have to arrange all shipments of the goods themselves? As the importer they would then accept and take on responsibility of the 'Responsible Person'

If anybody has any advise I would really appreciate it! Most information I am reading is just aimed at a retail type scenario.

It is easy - you get a representative in the EU and follow the guidelines. There appear to be no shortcuts if you want to use your brand!

If your clients become the importer you will need to add their contact details to the product as the RP and they would need to keep the required documents.
