Has anyone heard of Google themselves selling SEO services?

Google have had an SEO division for years, they place them with large corporates like BMW etc.

There is also a company calling themselves googleSEO who are selling adwords as SEO first page.

Had a telesales call from them today - took us a long time to convince ourselves they were real. Sounded like a typical scam. Any advantage in using them?

Are you sure it was actually Google? They normally don't telesell SEo as they only work with huge corps, they only normally telesell their adwords assistants. on NO account let them within a mile of your adwords account they will murder it.

Same as above. Google will not call you to sell SEO! They only work with large companies - think I remember seeing a article about their prices starting from £25k a month?

It sounds scam as never heard about Google offering SEO services so I would never trust such a call claiming to be Google.

Make sure you have a clear view of the prices & read the TOS carefully.

Yes it was google, we're not mugs, we ran phone number and IP traces. We don't use adwords so that might in the end be what they're trying to sell, but it was SEO they were talking about.

Apologies if It came out wrong If they are selling SEO in the Uk then things have seriously changed. I would certainly be interested in more details about this

In 2008, Google bought a company called double click. part of the DDC portfolio was performix, an SEO company. The board then forced larry page to sell this arm to Publicis, LP was livid, and since then he has had an SEO division, but it has been on an advisory basis and only for large corporates.

Google have had an adwords outsourcing team for a long time, they are pretty much crap at it though , probably create more clients and more money for the independents like Steve Gibson, than they take away (they truly are that bad at it) Ask Steve

Hello, not yet I heard about Google offered SEO Service. But, anyway I can say you in my working experience that Organic SEO is always better than Paid SEO. You should do SEO manually for optimization any site. Thanks.

Turns out they're selling adword campaigns........

(Looks quite decent and it's a free service, but it's rather difficult to imagine what would happen if we had an additional 1.6m people hit our website every month. I suspect all our support people would place their phones into jiffy bags and send them back to us)

I do agree with "oldwelsguy" comment , Google don't do telesale and yes they work for Big companies, it says some of keywords you can't bring on the 1st page because Google sold those keywords like air tickets etc am i right ?

As this thread proves, Google DO do telesales.

They also think that we are a big company in our sector, which is true - because retail VoIP is still a small sector (compared the traditional telecoms that is.)

Google adwords telesales will hit new adwords advertisers, or anyone that triggers a set of parameters. Glad it all came out as pukka in the end
