Google Places - Comments Not Valid

Hey Guys, I used to own the following domain leedsdomesticcleaning.co.uk, but sold it on eBay for £200... I then created a new website on the following domain name, http://www.leedsdomesticcleaningservices.co.uk, to try run the cleaning company again without my old business partner, but the website I sold, seems to be misleading customers, and taking payments without providing a service, but the comments on google places have all linked into my new listing, why? http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place...t&ct=placepage-link&resnum=3&ved=0CK4BEOIJMAI

So this must be affecting me..., the new website as reached page 2 in google, and would be a shame to have to purchase a new domain name and start again, due to some other business owner ripping off customers...

Any suggestions are welcome, is it because i created the google places listing for both websites? and never changed the address on the old business listing?

That's one of the problems, Google places merge information, even when done correctly. Clean them both up and make sure the information is correct on your listing. Submit an error report to Google and eventually they will sort it out !

Yep, this is what the marvelous Google do, they harm business directly by merging incorrect data,of which the actual customer has very little control, no direct control, and then, miraculously, they place that bad (often libelous) content right at the top of their search results.

These are the sort of things that need to be picked up as a class action in order to force Google to put together an acceptable level of service. They are effectively scraping and mashing up content and passing it off as fact.

Unfortunately they will now continue to merge this information repeatedly even after cleaning it up. I assume that the old listing is still showing and you have no control over it? If you have control you need to take it down,. but be careful as technically if you have sold the domain, it could be classed as hacking.

Cheers guys, nope... no longer have access to the old listing, suppose my mistake for not changing the listing details, to the new owners address... What i've done is contacted google, raising the issue that the two accounts have merged... quick question, we are moving home in about 4-6 weeks, so would have a new address, with no links to google, if i changed my places listing to my new address, would this remove the merge? seems like information is collected by address???

New address might do it, but the issue is that the listing is already merged. Id seriously consider taking it off Places altogether for a while.

yep, take it down completely, move, and put it back up. Google merge listings for so many reasons it really is criminal the way they act. It makes life so easier to black hat damage a competitors listing.

Cheers guys, google need to look at this merging issue, because i'm sure it affects more people then just me... What i will do is wait for a reponse back from google... if not resolved i will take down the google places listing, and try again once we have moved... hoping that the systems have cleared out my merged data...
