I am listed on google maps. I couldnt see a reason not to list, its free and can help raise your profile on local searches.
Are you saying you want to be listed on google maps, or are searching for a service?
What you're asking about is a Google Business Listing - they're the entries on Google maps. Yes, they're helpful - you get them through Goole webmaster tools if I remember rightly (someone may want to correct me on this it's been a while)
Officebird said: Acccording to Google it has had 55 impressions in the last 30 days. Not bad imo.
But how many people clicked on your link? You could have a 1000 impressions per day but if no one visits then the exercise was pointless.
The aim of your site should be to generate new business. If google maps helps to do this then that's great but if you are targetting the wrong keywords then it means someone else is making money and you aren't.
This is true Fisicix. You can tell I'm no SEO expert can't youI've got the keywords I think I should have in there but if I show up on a map that surely means someone has put Darlington into the search box, so my logo milling around can't do any harm even if they aren't looking for my services at that time. I think maybe I should ask my IT guru to check my keywords though as noone has clicked on the link
One thing I have noticed is that sometimes the map comes up and sometimes it doesn't. Do you know why that is?
