Google+ customised domain

I have found the article on google telling me how to choose the domain, but when following the instructions it seems wrong.

Can anyone help me get ot the page where I would be able to choose my own name?

Hi can you clarify exactly what you are trying to achieve? You terminology is a bit confusing, as google + doesn't have custom domains, just an option for custom URL, however Google Apps does have custom domains. PM me if you like

Its the URL bit - too much reading on google wheere they have used the wrong terminology.

So it woulf be plus.google.com/xxxxx Its the xxxxx bit I would like to be able to alter.

You can't alter it to anything you chose. If they allow you to have a custom one they set the name and they give you the option to use it on the 'manage' page.

Are you talking about a personal Google+ Page (Profile) or Brand/Local Page?

While logged in, go to https://business.google.com, if you have several businesses select the right one 'manage this page', scroll down, if you have sufficient quality listing linked to a domain etc there will be a box near the bottom of the page 'Get your Custom URL' and you will have a choice of two, select the right one. Thats it.

Local or Brand?

I looked at this the other day as my brand has a long number for the url after the domain.

I'd like +brand as the url but have to wait until the page meets the minimum requirements. I read that it needed at least 100 followers but found contradictory info on that.

This page would suggest it only needs to be a verified business and linked to a website but mine has both that and still no option for custom url.

That is a Local Page
You need to be logged in to Google+ as the page not your Profile to make the edits

Lots of ways of doing it, probably the easiest is,
1. Sign in to the Profile that created the Page

2. Go Here - https://business.google.com/manage/

3. If it is in there click on Manage Location (if it's not in there, it was probably created by another Profile)

Alternativey, try this https://plus.google.com/b/103485607...2/about?pageId=103485607927530131542&hl=en-GB and see if it mentions Get URL under the Contact Information section.

Is there a link for editing the page?
How long has it been verified?

There is a link to edit the page and I can edit the write up, opening hours etc.

It was verfied on Monday or Tuesday.
